On Saturday, Grandma, Daddy, Mommy & Ben got up early, drove to Springfield, IL and watched Barack Obama (Ben calls him “Backomama”
) announce his candidacy for the President. It was pretty neat, although BITER COLD! The temp was 13, but we were part of history (along with 17,000 or so others). Wait…did I mention it was COLD!
On Sunday, we went to Nana & Papa’s for a lunch to celebrate Papa’s birthday. Now, Nana & Papa have 2 yard tractors and about 8000 kittens (okay, that’s an exaggeration, but sometimes, it seems like it). Every time Ben goes to Nana & Papa’s house, he wants to see the kitties & the tractors. Here are some cute pics of Ben sitting on the tractors & being attacked by the kittens (who really do get attention, but apparently, not quite enough…one tried to join us on our ride home).
Here are some pics from today. Ben was eating yogurt. We get the cute smile pics by telling Ben to “show us your cheeks”. He then gives a cute cheesy grin. The last set is of him playing on the floor. He likes to “check the animals” in the vet kit. Notice that he has one sock off and one sock on…silly boy!

Wonderful pictures…my guess is, that since you all went all the way to Springfield that Obama will have your votes…we are Hillary all the way!!!! Glad little Ben is on the mend. I love the pics with him and that huge horse (ok, it was a cat, but it was bigger than Mickey – did you even get to SEE Mickey while you were here)?!
So looking forward to spring; even though winter arrived late, I’m sick of it. Give Ben a big hug and kiss from Aunt Joanne and pat that newest little one.
Love you all,
Aunt Joanne

I love how he responds to animals. He’s so relaxed and seems to love it when he gets their attention. Nana has great cats for Ben!
