Sam had his 6-month well baby checkup last Thursday. He’s “a-okay”. He weighed 17 lbs, .5 oz (50th %tile) and was 26 1/2 inches (50th %tile) tall. He’s developing perfectly and got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine. His next appointment is on April 14th (9 months).
Ben is over his croup, but not the cold that came with it. He’s sounding much better and is much happier (although the steroid he takes for the croup makes him very much not himself…a little aggressive and very demanding).
I just measured Ben this morning, because he seems to be growing taller before our very eyes. All the sudden, he can reach light switches that he couldn’t just a few months ago and his waist comes up to the edge of the coffee table now. He is 37 1/2 inches tall and weighs 31.8 pounds (according to the bathroom scale). His yearly checkup will be on June 23rd (I know, still a ways off, but we made the appointment last week).
Wait… 37.5… wasn’t he like 41 in. tall at the last appt. or am I just being a forgetful dad?
No matter… pretty soon he’ll be able to turn off his own light in his room (Papa’s got that up pretty high)… he’s able to at least reach the plate cover…
At this rate of growth, we may have to look at basketball as a career and not just baseball… He could be the next Tyler Hansbrough… only better! (yeah, uncle dave, that’s a shot across the bow!)
