We’ve been trying to potty train Ben since after Christmas. It’s been very slow-going. It seems to take 1 step forward and 2 back. There have been TREMENDOUS steps forward these last two weeks! I haven’t wanted to jinx it, so I haven’t been posting anything about it. The last 3 days, he has had “big boy undies” on ALL DAY LONG (minus nap time, when we change him into a pull-up). We even went to Church on Sunday and shopping yesterday.

Today, we tackled another hump…HE POOPED IN THE POTTY for the first time!!! We tried twice on the potty before it actually happened. I truly think the 3rd time he REALLY had to go! When he got done, he said, “Now I get to use toilet paper.” After we made all our celebratory phone calls, he asked for the truck stickers (a dump truck and a mixer truck…he’s holding them up in the picture) he’s been promised for months.

I’m so proud of him and I think he’s proud of himself too! I feel like I want to dance and sing for him (we did do a little potty dance in the bathroom afterwards). He still has accidents, but the steps forward are getting MUCH bigger than the steps back!!!
